Championship Cup Final Preview

The Trailfinders Sports Ground is set to host the Championship Cup Final this Saturday

The stage is set for the Championship Cup Final, which takes place on Saturday 21 May between Ealing Trailfinders and Coventry Rugby at the Trailfinders Sports Club, Vallis Way: K.O 15:00 BST.

As the highest ranked club in the league at round 17, Ealing Trailfinders host the final.

Coventry's three matches so far in the Cup have produced thrilling, close-cut scorelines. The two home and away legs in the first round produced an aggregate score of 52-49 over Ampthill.  The two ties in the quarter-finals produced a 62-53 aggregate score over Doncaster Knights, who finished second in the league. Last weekend’s away game to Jersey Reds in the semi-final saw Coventry triumph 17-20, setting up a final showdown with Ealing Trailfinders.

As winners of the league, Ealing Trailfinders received a bye in the first round of the Cup.  They played Ampthill in home and away ties in the quarter-finals with scores of 21-31 away and 56-24 at home. The Trailfinders then hosted Cornish Pirates in the semi-final, beating them 36-26 to secure their place in the final.

Unfortunately there won't be a live stream of Saturday's Championship Cup Final, but tickets to the match can be purchased via the Ealing Trailfinders website, here.
