Jersey take control of title race
Jersey Reds are now just one win away from clinching the 2022/23 Championship title.
Jersey Reds took control of the Championship title race on Saturday with a 19-13 victory over reigning champions, Ealing Trailfinders, on a dramatic day at both ends of the table.

The result sees the Channel Islanders leapfrog their West London rivals into top spot, with victory over Ampthill at The Stade Santander the last hurdle standing between them and a maiden Championship title. Should The Mob cause an upset, though, The Trailfinders would take top spot with a win at Castle Park. Elsewhere, London Scottish produced their performance of the season to take the fight for survival down to the final round with a thumping 49-3 win over Richmond. The Exiles, will avoid relegation with a victory at Nottingham on Friday night, but anything other than a five-point haul against The Archers [albeit a four-point win would probably be enough for London Scottish given the 96-point points difference between the two sides] would see Richmond re-take control of their destiny with a showdown against Cornish Pirates at The RAG on Saturday.
Elsewhere, Ampthill and Bedford Blues played out a thriller at Dillingham Park, with the visitors leaving it late to clinch a win and cement a fourth-placed finish in The Championship. Coventry continued their fine run of form with an entertaining 38-24 win against Nottingham, Cornish Pirates edged a hard-fought encounter with Hartpury, and Doncaster Knights banked a resounding win at Caldy.
The weekend's results means the Championship table now looks like this with one round to play.
