Doncaster Knights and Bedford Blues went head to head at Castle Park in the first of 10 official live streams this season, with the hosts pulling away in the second half to take maximum points and leapfrog their opponents into fourth place with a 50-19 win. Knights No. 8 John Kelly scored two of the Knights’ seven tries in a Man of the Match performance, while Bedford’s three tries saw them miss out on a bonus point and bring their three-match winning streak to an end.

Hartpury pulled off a stunning fightback against Nottingham, overturning a 22-point deficit to secure their second win of the season. Nottingham got off to a blistering start, securing a try bonus point inside 23 minutes, but the hosts turned it around in the second half with Mitchell Eadie and Ellis Shipp both crossing twice en route to a 39-31 victory.

Nick Royle marked his 200th Caldy appearance with a try as the Ravers took on Jersey Reds at Paton Field, but it was the visitors who prevailed, running out 19-34 winners. The Reds overturned a 12-10 half time deficit, outscoring Caldy six tries to three, to secure their fifth straight win of the season and keep the pressure up on Ealing Trailfinders at the top of the table.

London Scottish banked their second point of the season on Saturday, courtesy of a try bonus point against Coventry. Dan Nutton crossed twice for The Exiles, with Harry Sheppard adding 12 points from the tee, but Coventry proved to be too strong, running in seven tries, including a brace from Will Talbot-Davies and a hat-trick from Suva Ma’asi. Full time at The RAG: London Scottish 32-46 Coventry.

Ealing Trailfinders blew Richmond away 56-19 to extend their run at the top of The Championship. The hosts ran in eight tries in total, with Steven Shingler slotting 100% of his conversions, and a brace from Carlo Tizzano catapulting the former Waratah to the top of the try-scoring charts. The Trailfinders’ fifth straight bonus-point win sees them maintain a one-point advantage over Jersey Reds with an impressive points difference of +151 after five rounds.

Robin Wedlake’s last-gasp score denied Ampthill a memorable win at The Mennaye, as Cornish Pirates ground out a 16-13 win on Sunday. After a first half which saw the visitors outscore the hosts two tries to one, Ampthill led 13-10 for 40 minutes of the second half before Wedlake’s winner in the corner. Paul Turner’s charges will take solace from a losing bonus point, while Pirates banked their third win of the campaign but remain in seventh place.
