After a two-week break, The Championship returns for what could be a decisive round of action with regards to the title race. Should Coventry fail to pick up any points tonight against London Scottish, and Ealing Trailfinders beat Ampthill tomorrow, the Trailfinders would be crowned champions with two games to spare. Conversely, should Coventry pick up a bonus-point win against The Exiles, the Midlands outfit would climb to the top of the table tonight albeit having played two extra games. Cornish Pirates would keep their slim hopes of a title challenge alive with a bonus-point win at Nottingham tonight; hopes which would be extinguished if Ealing pick up any points on Saturday.
