Caldy RFC

Caldy RFC was formed in 1924 as the Old Caldeians Rugby Club for past pupils of Wirral-based Calday Grange School.

In 1968 the club became Caldy Rugby Club, setting themselves as original members of the Giro Bank North West league; the forerunner of National Leagues. It had mixed success and in 1996 it was relegated into level 9 in the league pyramid.

After winning the National 2 North league in the 2019-20 season, they were promoted to National 1 and joined clubs such as Blackheath, Rosslyn Park, Coventry, and Moseley.

In April 2022 Caldy reached the highest level in the club's history, beating title rivals Sale 13–9 in front of a crowd of 3,000 at Paton Field to win National League 1 and gain promotion to the Championship for the 2022/23 season.
